Anambra Govt. Tackles Street Trading, Demolish illegal Shanties, Stores in Awka
The Anambra State Government has demolished illegal shanties and stores defacing the State capital, Awka on Wednesday, 21st June 2023 following a public announcement earlier made through the Ministry of Information to the general public against these trends of littering several locations of the state capital with illegal shanties and unapproved stores along major roads, thereby constituting serious nuisance and environmental pollution in the state capital.
The Anambra State Government has demolished illegal shanties and stores defacing the State capital, Awka on Wednesday, 21st June 2023 following a public announcement earlier made through the Ministry of Information to the general public against these trends of littering several locations of the state capital with illegal shanties and unapproved stores along major roads, thereby constituting serious nuisance and environmental pollution in the state capital.

Speaking, the MD/CEO of Awka Capital City Development Agency (ACTDA) Mr. Ossy Onuko reiterated that the agency will restore the lost glory of the capital city as mandated by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

“Our people must understand and live with the reality that Awka is the Anambra State Capital, we must do everything to give Awka that befitting look it deserved as Anambra State Capital, remember that Anambra is the Light of the nation, anyone that enters Awka and another part of Anambra must behold serenity of our streets, public places, and the environment”
“We must do our part to beautify Awka in line with our amiable Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda in making Anambra a livable, secured, smart, and prosperous homeland,” he concluded.
He called on synergy with the people of the State to work with the State government to achieve the set objective of the State government.
