A lawyer Abdul Mahmoud popularly known as Great Oracle on Twitter has been arrested on Tuesday for defending citizens who were being intimidated by the ACP Zara Muhammed in Karu on Sunday.
“Police have taken the intimidation of citizens too far. Because I defended ordinary citizens intimidated by ACP Zara Muhammed on Sunday in Karu, officers led by Insp Sola Olalekan arrested me in my own home. Headed to the station at Abacha Road, Mararaba.”
Speaking on Tuesday, he revealed that the Nigeria Police led by Inspector Sola Olalekan arrested him in his home and there were headed to the station at Abacha Road, Mararaba in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Force Public Relations Officer Prince Olumiyiwa Adejobi is yet to confirm arrest as at the time of filing this report.
Mr. Mahmud has often spoken against the oppression and intimidation experienced by the citizens in the country and has joined different platforms on educating and sensitizing the police force.
