Banks Withdraw Services, Join NLC Nationwide Warning Strike
The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution Employees (NUBIFE) has directed its workers to comply with the 2-day warning strike proposed by the Nigeria Labour Congress for Tuesday and Wednesday, 5th and 6th of September 2023.
The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution Employees (NUBIFE) has directed its workers to comply with the 2-day warning strike proposed by the Nigeria Labour Congress for Tuesday and Wednesday, 5th and 6th of September 2023.

The memo which was dated September 2, 2023, and signed by the union’s General Secretary, Mohammed I. Sheikh directed bank staff to stay off work on the two days.

It revealed that the strike action is imperative to get the attention of the federal government on the economic hardship plaguing the country and plunged more people below the poverty line.
The memo noted that the directive complied with the strike notice issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress on August 31.
