Operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at House F10, Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos.
The suspects: Udemba Chukwuemeka (a.k.a Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (a.k.a. Jamal) were arrested at the residence of a musician: John Njeng Njeng (a.k.a Skales) hours after the singer accused them of breaking into his home.
The two suspects, suspected of being involved in dating scams, described Njeng as their ” mentor”. While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for a few months.
They will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Meanwhile, Singer Skales has accused operatives of the EFCC of breaking into his house in the early hours of Tuesday stating that it was in a routine check. He claimed that the organization does not expect the rule of law and operates like a criminal organization.
Responding, Singer Skales revealed that he has been threatened over his outburst on social media and stated that he feels very unsafe. He also disclosed that the arrested suspected fraudsters came to his house to make music.
“The EFCC alleged that they found “things” in the phones of the two people they arrested who came to make music with me “One escorted the producer I’m working with to my house and the other is an artist im helping to shape his career…
Meaning they did not find “anything” illegal on myself and the remaining others which are my daughter, DJ Spicey, and my daughter and her nannies Which is why we were not arrested.
Now one of them whose name is femi called me threatening that he could rope me into something because of my outburst on social media.
An outburst was caused by the unprofessional manner in which they gained entry into my home at 4 a.m., while I had my 6-month-old child & her mum sleeping.

How do you threaten to rope an innocent person into something he did not do? Is that not illegal?
