Troops of Exercise GOLDEN DAWN III in conjunction with personnel of the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and local vigilante operatives have neutralized a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orsumoghu, Anambra State when it raided its camp on the 11th of December 2023.
It was gathered that the troops who were following credible intelligence also injured members of the proscribed group who escaped with gunshot wounds and one pump action rifle was recovered.
Similarly, the troops on patrol along Orsumoghu-Ukpor road in Ihiala Local Government Area on Saturday, the 9th of December 2023 came across some IPOB/ESN members and engaged them in gunfire.
Items like 27 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm ammunition, 3 locally made hand grenades, 2 handheld radios, one pair of NPF uniforms, and fragmental jackets and charms were recovered after they abandoned their hideout.
