Crushed Abia Polytechnic Student: Police Arrest Trailer Driver

The trailer driver who crushed, Ezekiel Mary Ogechi, the final year student of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba has been arrested and is currently in the custody of the Abia State Police Command.

This was made known by ASP Maureen Chinaka on Thursday during the Open Parliament program on Family Love FM, Umuahia revealing that an investigation has commenced.

The trailer driver had crushed the distinction graduate of the Accounting department who was awaiting the compulsory National Youth Service when the unfortunate incident happened on Tuesday.

Ogechi who hails from Amaukwu Igbere had just finished her school clearance when she was hit by a Keke driver who fled the scene and she was subsequently crushed by a speeding trailer.

Students of the Polytechnic protested over the incident and urged the government to put speed bumps in front of the school to curb such accidents in the future.
