Police Arrest Four for Faking Kidnap, Demanding Ransom

It was gathered that the four persons; 25 year old Margaret Itodo, 23-year-old Agnes Ogbeh, 24-year-old Esther Anyanwu and 23 year old Anthony Chinakwe, a male, over a fake Kidnap of Agnes who is also part of the group.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command on Friday, Agnes, a resident in Akure, Ondo State travelled to Lagos on 19th March and was reportedly kidnapped.

The syndicate sent a video of Agnes tied up, gagged and groaning with blood droplets around them to the family and demanded five million nairas as ransom.
The family contacted the police, who conducted a discreet investigation. They located the hideout where Agnes, the other woman in the video, and two others were living freely together.
“Further investigations revealed that Margaret Itodo is a professional make-up artist who was hired to make the video look real. All four have made confessional statements and are to be arraigned after the investigation.”
