Police Neutralise Suspected Kidnapper, Recover Ammunition
A kidnapper was neutralized by the operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command on 3rd April 2024 in a failed kidnap attempt along the Nasarawa – Keffi highway around Kemu village.
A kidnapper was neutralized by the operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command on 3rd April 2024 in a failed kidnap attempt along the Nasarawa – Keffi highway around Kemu village.

It was gathered that a distress call was placed to the command that hoodlums blocked the highway to kidnap unsuspecting passengers on that route.
Reacting to the unpleasant development, police operatives, in collaboration with the military, swiftly raced to the scene but on Sighting the operatives, the criminals opened fire, and a gun duel ensued.

One of the hoodlums was fatally wounded and one Ak 47 riffle loaded with eleven (11) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was recovered; forcing the hoodlums to abandon their mission and scamper for safety.
According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the public relations officer of the command on Thursday, the kidnappers had stopped two sport utility vehicles to Kidnap occupants but failed due to the presence of the security.
Meanwhile, the wounded kidnapper was rushed to General Hospital, Nasarawa, where he died while receiving treatment.
