I’ll Never Heat the Polity – Abia Former Speaker Chinedum Orji Says

Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly has stated that he will never heat the polity by making statements that would endanger the development of the State but rather willing to face a constitutionally set up panel or committee if called upon.

He made this known during an exclusive interaction with the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, OMPAN, on Sunday making it clear that he is committed to progress and development.

Engr. Orji who stated that his target in the House of Assembly was to leave the House better than he met it, revealed that he left the Assembly at the end of his tenure with only his seat which he purchased with his money.

“All property acquired with the government finances was left intact. I have the documents to back it all up. I’m not scared of facing a constitutionally set up panel about my time in the House.

“I took only the chair I bought with my money when I left as the speaker of Abia State House of Assembly. That is why nobody can come and ask me to bring government property. When it’s time for politics, we will play politics.”

He advised OMPAN to be committed to their work, write constructively and refrain from being an attack dog for any politician.

Rt. Hon. Orji in whose tenure the Abia State House of Assembly Complex was facelifted, reconstructed and retrofitted urged OMPAN to stand on the path of truth and be professional in the course of the work.
