The Former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu stated that the one year in office of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has been a great disappointment.

Speaking on Thursday while congratulating Hon. Osonwa for completing one year in office, Hon. Uchendu revealed that the Honourable member has been a disappointment to his people, a complete waste.
While wishing him success, he urged Hon. Osonwa to fulfil the people’s expectations by addressing their needs.
“I, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, Ph.D., extend my heartfelt congratulations to our brother, Hon. Ibe Osonwa, on completing his first year in office. However, I must express my deep disappointment with his performance over the past year. His one-year scorecard is a total letdown for the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia Federal Constituency.

“This year has been a complete waste, and I urge him to meet our expectations in the coming year. Once again, I sincerely congratulate him and wish him the best in his duties to the good people of Arochukwu and Ohafia Federal Constituency. We have high expectations. I salute you all.”
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa has faced significant criticism for failing to sponsor bills and policies that would enhance the lives of the people in his constituencies.
The lawmaker allegedly distributed cassava, yams, and rice to selected constituents, who claimed that his presence in the Green Chamber had not benefited them.
Chief Uchendu ran for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives but lost to Hon. Okwara, the Labour Party candidate.
