Speaker Abbas Inaugurates SEDC, Names Nkwonta as Chairman
The Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, on behalf of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D, yesterday formally inaugurated the Committee on the South East Development Commission at its first inaugural meeting.
The Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, on behalf of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D, yesterday formally inaugurated the Committee on the South East Development Commission at its first inaugural meeting.

The deputy speaker charged members to ensure that the commission hits the ground running in its activities through effective oversight functions.


The Committee is to be chaired by the member representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Chris Nkwonta.
According to the deputy speaker, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, The House will work closely with the Committee to ensure that the Commission fulfils its mandate and serves as a model for regional development across the country.
