World Oral Health Day 2025: Aba North Chairman Raises Awareness
As the Executive Chairman of Aba North Local Government Area, I recognize the critical role that oral hygiene plays in our daily lives. A healthy mouth not only enhances our smiles but also boosts our confidence, communication, and general quality of life. Poor oral health has been linked to serious health complications, including heart disease, diabetes, and mental stress, which can significantly affect our productivity and happiness.
PRESS STATEMENT BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF ABA NORTH LGA, HON. TIMOTHY KALU IHEKE, ON THE OCCASION OF WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY (WOHD) 2025

Theme: “A Happy Mouth is…A Happy Mind”
With great enthusiasm, I join the global community in commemorating World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2025, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and its profound impact on overall well-being. This year’s theme, “A Happy Mouth is…A Happy Mind,” underscores the undeniable link between good oral health and mental wellness.
In line with the vision of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, to enhance healthcare accessibility and improve the well-being of all Abians, our administration remains committed to promoting preventive healthcare measures, including oral health education. We encourage residents of Aba North to adopt good dental hygiene practices such as regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups to prevent oral diseases.

Furthermore, we call on healthcare practitioners, schools, and community organizations to intensify awareness campaigns and free dental outreach programs to ensure that even the most vulnerable in our society have access to essential oral health services.
As we mark this important day, let us all embrace healthy oral habits, recognizing that a happy mouth truly leads to a happy mind. Together, we can build a healthier, more vibrant Aba North where everyone can smile with confidence.
Happy World Oral Health Day 2025!
Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke
EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, ABA NORTH LGA
