EFCC Declares Sanwo-Olu’s Ally Aisha Achimugu Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, an ally of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as a person of interest. She has been implicated in allegedly donating funds from the Lagos State Government to support Peter Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 general election.

In a publication signed by Dele Oyewale, the Head of the Media and Publicity on Friday, Aisha is being wanted for criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

Reports have revealed that the publication is not unconnected to the fallout between Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Tinubu following the discovery that he funded the campaigns of his biggest rivals through MS Achimugu to win in Lagos after Peter Obi won in the State in the last general election.

While Obi’s media has not confirmed or denied the report, Atiku Abubakar’s media, represented by Paul Ibe, stated that the claims are malicious, as the former Vice President has never met Sanwo-Olu.
