A catastrophic fire destroyed a residential building at 74 Lagos Street, Obohia Road, Aba, in the early hours of April 1, 2025. The blaze, which erupted around 11:17 PM, engulfed the structure, leaving occupants with nothing but ashes.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in the inferno, but many residents are now displaced, having lost all their personal belongings. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread rapidly, leaving little time for emergency services to intervene.

While the cause of the fire has not been officially confirmed, many of the residents suspect an electrical fault may have triggered the devastating blaze. As of Wednesday morning, affected individuals were seen trying to salvage whatever little remained of their possessions while seeking help.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
