Niger Govt Receives 17 Rescued Kidnap Victims
In a significant development, the Niger State Government has officially received seventeen (17) kidnapped victims who were recently rescued by security forces in Kaduna State.
In a significant development, the Niger State Government has officially received seventeen (17) kidnapped victims who were recently rescued by security forces in Kaduna State.

The victims had been abducted on March 3rd, 2025, from Loto Village, located near Kuchi in Sarkin Pawa district of Munya Local Government Area, Niger State.
The reception ceremony took place on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at the State Police Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna. The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, led the state delegation that welcomed the rescued individuals. He was accompanied by other top government officials, security personnel, and humanitarian stakeholders.






Addressing the press and the victims, Deputy Governor Garba commended the relentless efforts of the security operatives who facilitated the successful rescue operation in Kaduna State. He also expressed deep relief over the safe return of the victims, assuring that the government will provide the necessary psychosocial support and medical care to aid their recovery and reintegration.
The Deputy Governor reiterated the commitment of the Niger State Government to intensify collaborations with federal security agencies in combating kidnapping and other forms of insecurity across the state.
The rescued individuals are currently undergoing debriefing and medical evaluations, and will soon be reunited with their families after completing post-rescue protocols.
