Man Caught in Viral Video Assaulting 22-year-old Woman
The Adamawa State Police Command arrested a man who was filmed physically assaulting a 22-year-old woman named Salamatu Yakubu of Angwan Tana on the 13th of March 2025.
The Adamawa State Police Command arrested a man who was filmed physically assaulting a 22-year-old woman named Salamatu Yakubu of Angwan Tana on the 13th of March 2025.

In a statement on Monday, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the suspect was apprehended with the assistance of concerned citizens through community policing strategies after the Command investigated the viral video.
“During the assault, an individual recorded the incident and shared the video on social media.


“Concerned citizens, Good Samaritans, NGOs, and civil society organizations made several calls to the police. The timely response from the police led to the arrest of the suspect.”
While the victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention and is responding to treatment, the Command assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and the suspect will be prosecuted under the relevant sections of the law.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently in custody at the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for diligent investigation and prosecution.
