29-Year-Old Man Conspires with Another to Kill 5-Year-Old Boy
A 29-year-old man, Isiaka Hassan, who conspired with another suspect to kill a 5-year-old boy, Abba Bashiru, in Tingno, Lamurde Local Government Area has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command.
The arrest followed a report filed on August 30 by the child’s mother, Hadiza Bashiru, who informed the police that her son had gone missing and was last seen in the company of the suspect.
Acting swiftly on the report, operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer in Tingno launched a manhunt and apprehended Hassan.
During interrogation, he confessed to conspiring with an accomplice, who is still at large, to murder the child and bury him in a shallow grave.
Police say the body of the young victim was exhumed and taken to the hospital for an autopsy.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case and intensify efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The motive behind the heinous act is still under investigation, as authorities continue their search for the second suspect.
