A road accident along the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway on April 21, 2025, resulted in the death of three individuals and left 17 others injured.

The incident occurred around 3:05 p.m. near Ajanla Village Junction, when a Toyota Hummer commercial bus traveling from Yola to Lagos suffered a front-left tire burst.
The sudden malfunction caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and somersaulted into a nearby ditch.

The ill-fated bus, bearing the registration number Taraba JAL 705 RS, was carrying 20 passengers at the time. The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The remaining 17 victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly transported to Central Hospital in Ibadan for urgent medical attention.
Authorities have deposited the bodies of the deceased at Adeoyo State Hospital’s mortuary for autopsy. Meanwhile, the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) have recovered the vehicle and commenced an investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident.
