2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has clarified his political stance, stating that he is not in conflict with President Bola Tinubu but is instead focused on confronting the pressing challenges facing Nigerians.

Speaking in Abuja today after visits to the Anglican Hospital, Diocese of Kubwa, and the Anglican Comprehensive Secondary School, where he showed solidarity and support for the health and education sectors, shortly after returning from the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican in Rome yesterday, Mr. Obi emphasized that his mission is centered on the people, not political rivalry.
“I am not fighting Tinubu. I am busy fighting against hunger, poor education, and poor healthcare for Nigerians. I am in coalition with the Nigerian people. Politics, for me, is not about holding a position; it’s about making things work,” Obi stated.

Obi, who was pictured with President Bola Tinubu and former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi at the Vatican, said his immediate focus is on the people and dismissed rumours of a possible coalition with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stating that he is not desperate for any position.
“The only coalition I am interested in is the one against hunger, poverty, and the bad state of healthcare and education in the country. I am not desperate for any position.”
