Club de Madrid Appoints Ezekwesili as Advisor to Strengthen Global Democracy

Former Minister of Education Obiageli Ezekwesili has accepted an invitation to become an advisor to Club de Madrid, the world’s largest forum of democratic former Presidents and Prime Ministers.

In her new role, Ezekwesili, who advocates for transparency, accountability, good governance and human capital development, will collaborate with global leaders who leverage their collective experience to strengthen inclusive democratic practices and improve global well-being.

Club de Madrid, which brings together influential democratic leaders worldwide, focuses on addressing global challenges by promoting cooperation and solving issues related to “global public bads”, the negative global forces that hinder progress.

Ezekwesili expressed her appreciation for the organisation’s ongoing dedication to solving complex global issues. She acknowledged the growing leadership vacuum and the delay in solutions to critical challenges in the international community.

“I accepted the invitation to become an Advisor to Club de Madrid, “the world’s largest forum of democratic former Presidents and Prime Ministers, who leverage their individual and collective leadership experience and global reach to strengthen inclusive democratic practice and improve the well-being of people around the world.

As our global context becomes even more complex, the leadership vacuum delays solutions to “global public Bads”.

I therefore deeply appreciate how these former leaders of democracies around the world continue to dedicate themselves to helping solve our global challenges and amplify opportunities for cooperation.

Delighted to support.” Ezekwesili said in her statement.

Her appointment is expected to bolster Club de Madrid’s efforts to create collaborative solutions for pressing global issues and to further amplify opportunities for cooperation across borders.
