Saudi Arabian authorities have reportedly arrested two women believed to be the wife and mother of Ado Aliero, a notorious bandit kingpin wanted for a series of deadly attacks and kidnappings in Nigeria’s Northwest region.

According to intelligence sources cited by the Daily Trust, the women were apprehended in the holy city of Medina, where they had allegedly been living under false identities.
Their arrest is part of a larger intelligence-led operation aimed at disrupting the networks of armed groups linked to ongoing violence in Zamfara and neighbouring states.
Ado Aliero’s rise in the criminal underworld has been associated with a web of local and transnational support, raising concerns about the reach and financing of bandit networks.

He has long been on Nigeria’s most-wanted list, accused of orchestrating numerous violent crimes, including mass kidnappings and attacks on rural communities.
Security agencies in Nigeria are reportedly coordinating with their Saudi counterparts as investigations continue into the extent of the women’s involvement and possible connections to Aliero’s criminal operations.
Officials have not yet released the names of the arrested individuals or provided further details on the charges they may face.
