The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed four rice milling facilities in the Autabalefi area, Masaka main market, and Masaka motor park of Nasarawa State over food safety violations.

During the enforcement exercise, officials confiscated empty branded rice bags bearing the names of popular products including Royal Stallion, Tomato, Big Bull, and BUA Rice. The bags are suspected to have been intended for the repackaging of substandard or unregistered rice.

Similarly, NAFDAC also placed the Masaka Depot of Nigerian Breweries on hold, citing poor storage conditions. Inspectors noted that beverages were being stored outside the building and exposed to direct sunlight, a practice that raises significant hygiene and safety concerns.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public health, emphasizing that all food and beverage products circulating in the Nigerian market must comply with established safety standards.
