Troop Strikes Boko Haram/ISWAP Strongholds, Neutralizes Top Commander

In the early hours of Monday, troops of Operation Hadin Kai carried out coordinated air and ground offensives against Boko Haram and ISWAP positions in Yobe and Borno states, resulting in heavy casualties among the insurgents.

Military sources confirmed that the strikes targeted known terrorist hideouts in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, as well as the notorious Tumbuktu Triangle in Borno.

The operation, described as “precise and devastating,” led to the neutralization of several insurgents, including high-ranking commanders.

Among those killed was Ameer Malam Jidda, a top Boko Haram/ISWAP commander with control over Ngorgore and Malumti villages. His death marks a significant blow to the group’s command structure in the region.

In a related development, troops conducting follow-up operations in Abadam recovered additional bodies of terrorists and a cache of seized weapons in the Mallamfatori area, underscoring the scale and impact of the recent offensive.

The Nigerian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and restoring peace to the North-East.
