Tinubu Signs Bill to Establish Federal College of Education, Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Bende
The bills include the Federal College of Education, Bende (Establishment Bill), Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item, Bende (Establishment Bill) and Federal University, Okigwe (Establishment Bill).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed into law three landmark bills establishing key tertiary institutions in Abia and Imo States.
The bills include the Federal College of Education, Bende (Establishment Bill), Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item, Bende (Establishment Bill) and Federal University, Okigwe (Establishment Bill).

The bill, which was signed on Monday, was sponsored by the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu is expected to significantly boost access to quality higher education in the Southeast region, particularly in Abia and Imo States.
This legislative achievement comes just four days after Rt. Hon. Kalu was conferred with the prestigious national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Tinubu, an accolade recognizing his outstanding service and dedication to nation-building.
