Police Foil Cult Initiation, Arrest Six During Raid
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have foiled a planned cult initiation ceremony in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area, arresting six suspects and recovering a cache of weapons and other incriminating items.
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have foiled a planned cult initiation ceremony in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area, arresting six suspects and recovering a cache of weapons and other incriminating items.

According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operation was carried out at about 9:30 a.m. on June 15, 2025, based on intelligence-driven information.
Items recovered at the scene include one Jojef pump action gun, two live cartridges, a golden-coloured Lexus SUV with registration number ATN 202 AE, two cutlasses, two scissors, a cap bearing the insignia of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, charms, hard substances suspected to be narcotics, and other incriminating materials.

The arrested suspects all male and aged between 20 and 30 have been identified as Nwadike Chibuike, Anierobi Precious, Raphael Ebube, Ezechi Benjamin, Okafor Chidera, and Chiema Okoye. They are currently undergoing police interrogation to uncover further details about their operations.
SP Ikenga noted the link between cultism and other forms of violent crime and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to eradicating cult-related activities across the state. He added that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The police urged residents to continue sharing timely and credible information with law enforcement agencies to aid in the ongoing crackdown on cultism and organized crime.
