Controversial social media influencer and critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Monday staged a dramatic protest at the gate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister’s residence in Abuja, drawing attention to the ongoing strike by primary school teachers in the capital.

The protest comes amid a more than 90-day strike by primary school teachers under the FCT Administration.
The strike, which began on March 24, 2025, stems from the failure of Area Council Chairmen to implement the new national minimum wage of ₦70,000.

In a viral video, VDM gathered a group of schoolchildren dressed in uniforms and held an impromptu class outside the Minister’s gate. During the session, he taught the children letters of the alphabet with pointed political references.
“S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” VDM chanted, as the children echoed his words, a jab widely interpreted as a critique of political leaders.
Neither the FCT Minister nor any government official had issued a formal response to the protest as of the time of filing this report.
