Again, Obi Donates ₦15 Million to Philomena College of Nursing

Peter Obi, the former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, has donated ₦15 million to Philomena College of Nursing Sciences in Benin City, Edo State, in support of human capital development.

Obi who visited the College of Nursing on Monday and has consistently advocated for prioritising healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation as the foundation for national progress, described the donation as a “modest contribution” to support the college’s role in training competent nurses and strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system.

The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party was warmly received by the management, staff, and students of the institution. He commended their dedication to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria and urged continued excellence in service and education.

“For Nigeria to truly develop, we must prioritise healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation, core pillars that define every progressive nation,” Obi stated. “A New Nigeria will emerge when we invest in our people and lift them out of poverty.”

He reiterated his belief that meaningful investments in education and health institutions are among the most effective strategies for building a prosperous and equitable society.

Obi who has made it a priority to visit and support Nursing Colleges all over the country maintained that strategic investments in human capital are central to national development noting that “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
