Umuahia Concerned Group Slams Hon. Chinasa Over 2027 Politicking, Alleges Poor Representation
A civic group under the banner of the Umuahia Central Concerned Assembly has issued a public statement criticising Hon. Anthony Abiola Chinasa, the member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, over what they describe as misplaced priorities and poor performance.
In a press release signed by Elder Clement Kalu Iroh (Chairman), Chief Onwuchekwa Hyacinth C. (Publicity Secretary), and Lady Mercy Nkemakolam (Secretary), the group accused Hon. Chinasa of abandoning his legislative duties in favour of early politicking for the 2027 elections.
Drawing comparisons with previous representatives who they said “brought pride and development,” the group concluded by calling for a return to transparent, people-centred leadership in Umuahia Central.
The press release reads; To our dear people of Umuahia Central State Constituency.
We speak as a concerned group, compelled by a sense of duty to respond to Hon. Anthony Abiola Chinasa’s recent claims and actions. While he professes integrity and service, his conduct, including unpaid church donations, premature 2027 campaign activities, and vague claims of selling properties for the public good, raises serious concerns about his priorities.
While other lawmakers across Abia State actively support education, empowerment, and community welfare, our representative has shown little impact. Initiatives like free JAMB/WAEC registration, youth empowerment, and SME support are missing from his scorecard.
Launching a campaign forum midterm shows misplaced focus, especially as he has failed to engage constituents meaningfully or showcase any real achievements. Unlike past representatives who brought pride and development, Chinasa’s tenure so far reflects self-interest over service.
We call for responsible, transparent, and people-centred leadership, not image-driven politics. May Umuahia Central rise again through truth and accountability.
