Eze Eberechukwu Oji Establishes Four Development Committees

Speaking at a dinner organised to celebrate the first anniversary of his coronation, His Eminence emphasised that this is the perfect time to embark on projects that will elevate the Kingdom and make it enviable.

He noted that the transformational leadership of Governor Alex Otti has provided the Kingdom with an opportunity to excel and encouraged the committees to work diligently for the Kingdom’s progress.

The committees include the Arochukwu Water Works, led by Mazi Barrister Oscar Okoro; the Arochukwu Road Infrastructure Committee, led by Mazi Dr. Chukwuemeka Maduagwu; the Arochukwu Environmental Beautification and Waste Management Committee, led by Mazi Kanu Oji; and the Arochukwu Sports Committee, led by Mazi Kelechi Silas.

The committees have been tasked with rehabilitating Greater Aro works, assessing the community’s water needs, overseeing water-related projects, identifying access roads in need of reconstruction, addressing erosion sites, and making recommendations. They are also to initiate dialogue between Arochukwu LGA and the State Government regarding road infrastructure contracts.

Further responsibilities include developing a blueprint for planting tall trees, managing a modern waste disposal system, creating recreational spaces in Arochukwu, identifying ways to maintain cleanliness, and outlining strategies to advance sports in the Kingdom, including establishing competitions like the Eze Aro Cup alongside another named tournament.

His Eminence, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, declared that Arochukwu Kingdom is entering a new era. He expressed gratitude to God for His mercies upon the Kingdom, as well as for the leadership of Governor Alex Otti and himself in traditional matters. He urged the community to prepare to embrace the mercy and grace that God has for them and reminded everyone of their importance in the work God intends to accomplish in their lives.

He stated that with the dedicated leadership of Governor Otti and the collective efforts of the people, Arochukwu can become a remarkable place known for its peace and unity.

Eze Eberechukwu Oji highlighted the plan to ensure there is a water supply in every village within Arochukwu, facilitating easier construction of buildings in the community.

“If development is not structured, it can hinder beautification efforts,” he said. “We will organise Arochukwu to reflect the needs and aspirations of its people. In terms of sports, there are no barriers to hosting marathons and other competitions. We will find sponsors, just as they do in Lagos and other cities. We hope to see this come to fruition in Jesus’ Name.”

In response, Eze Ibom Isii urged the people of Arochukwu Kingdom to support the committees in realising the dreams of the community. He emphasised the necessity for everyone to contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of Arochukwu Kingdom.

On behalf of the Committee, Mazi Oscar Okoro accepted the responsibilities, expressing the committee’s commitment to creating an Arochukwu that meets the expectations of the leadership. He thanked His Eminence Eze Eberechukwu Oji for establishing the committees and assured him of their dedication to realising the Renaissance of Arochukwu Kingdom.
