Akpabio Returns to Nigeria, Dismisses Rumours of Ill Health

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, returned to Nigeria in the early hours of Monday following what his media office described as a short vacation in London.

Akpabio arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 4:00 a.m. and was received at the presidential wing by a group of senators, aides, and supporters.

His return comes amid swirling rumours on social media suggesting he was critically ill and hospitalised in London. Addressing journalists at the airport, Akpabio firmly denied the claims, describing them as baseless.

“There’s nothing like such. I’m fit as a fiddle. I only stopped over in London for a short vacation,” he said.

The Senate President’s media team reiterated that his trip was personal and not health-related, dismissing the speculation as politically motivated misinformation.
