Ikeji-Aro 2025: CPC Chairman Okoro Announces 90% Readiness to Host Event

The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC), Barrister Oscar Chukwuma Okoro, has announced that they are 90% ready to host the Ikeji-Aro 2025 festival, which begins on Tuesday, September 23, with an interdenominational crusade at the Civic Centre in Oror, Arochukwu LGA.

During a meeting focused on last-minute preparations with the Committee, Barrister Okoro expressed gratitude for the support received from the sons and daughters of Aro Okeigbo, acknowledging that their contributions were vital to achieving this milestone.

Jideofor Kanu, the head of Security, reassured attendees that there are no security concerns; operatives are strategically positioned to ensure public safety. He also mentioned the ongoing Ekpo masquerade processions taking place in major villages, emphasising that there have been no security issues.

This provides a morale boost to community members who may have concerns about safety measures or who are still hesitant about participating in the festivities of the Arochukwu Kingdom.

With just four days remaining until the Ekekpe Aro-Okeigbo festival, the Aro communities are buzzing with activity related to the event. Reports indicate that commercial vehicles, fully loaded with passengers and goods, have been arriving at major motor parks, alongside numerous private vehicles.

Two middle-aged women shared with our contact that the current arrangements and logistics far exceed those of the 2024 Ikeji festival.

Awareness of the event is significant, and the seamless organisation of activities and entertainment provides reassurance that the joyful atmosphere traditionally associated with Aro and its surroundings is very much alive.

This reflects the conscious renaissance sweeping through the kingdom, driven by His Eminence Eze Dr Eberechukwu Oji, who is committed to leaving nothing to chance and ensuring that Umuaro Okeigbo fully benefits from his leadership, just over a year since his ascension to the revered throne.

Youth empowerment through vocational skill acquisition and scholarship programs has been an important aspect of his policies to make sure that the youths who are the future of the community are well equipped to not only fend for themselves but also benefit the community.

In 2024, the inaugural project team was established and empowered to manage startup businesses. This year, a new group will receive support, while the initial team will be evaluated and provided with enhanced resources based on their performance.

Meanwhile, Nzuko Arochukwu Worldwide and the subcommittees responsible for this initiative revealed that they were working diligently to establish a clear framework for assessing the achievements of the project deliverables.
