Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have neutralised 14 terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons and explosives in a series of coordinated operations carried out between September 22 and 27 across Borno and Adamawa States.

According to military sources, the most significant engagement occurred on September 27 at Loskori Kura in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, where troops eliminated 11 terrorists during offensive operations. The troops also recovered four AK-47 rifles, assorted ammunition, hard drugs, and other military items.

That same night, another terrorist was killed during a separate offensive in Konduga Local Government Area, further destabilising the enemy’s hold in the region.

Earlier, on September 22, troops neutralised a Boko Haram scout at Kolori Karumi, west of Alau Dam, also in Konduga. Two days later, on September 24, a fighting patrol at Zar Village in Hong LGA of Adamawa State recovered an AK-47 rifle. In another operation at Forward Operating Base Magumeri, troops intercepted a rifle from two suspected kidnappers.

In a major defensive effort, troops repelled a large-scale attack on Forward Operating Base Azir in Damboa on September 25. One insurgent was killed in the encounter, with three AK-47 rifles and materials for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) recovered.

The military also stepped up operations to cut off terrorist logistics supply chains. On September 27, troops discovered large quantities of urea fertiliser a key component in IEDs stored in shops at Central Market, Mubi North. On the same day, 20 jerricans of smuggled Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) were seized along Fillin Ball–Gella Road in Mubi South after the smugglers abandoned their consignment during a patrol sweep.

The Military High Command has lauded the troops for their bravery and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining aggressive counter-terrorism operations across the region.
