Obi Donates ₦2 Million to FCT Primary School, Decries Poor Sanitation Facilities
Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has donated ₦2 million to Tungan Nasara LEA Primary School in the Federal Capital Territory to support the construction of proper toilet facilities and improve the school’s learning environment.

Obi, who said he had just returned to Abuja from a series of meetings in Rome on October 9th, was briefed by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Chairmanship candidate for AMAC, Dr Moses Paul, about the dire state of the school’s sanitation infrastructure.
Moved by the situation, Obi paid an immediate visit to the school, expressing dismay at the “deplorable condition” of the facilities, particularly the toilets, which he described as posing “serious health risks to both pupils and teachers.”

“I made a personal donation of ₦2 million to support the construction of proper toilet facilities and to improve the overall learning environment. I have also made a commitment to return and assess the progress of the work.
“No child should be made to learn in such conditions,” Obi stated during the visit. He emphasised that his donation was a personal intervention and a reflection of his ongoing commitment to investing in education across Nigeria.
“Our children are the future of our nation. Their learning environment must reflect the value we place on that future,” he said. “Education remains the most critical investment in our nation’s development.”
Meanwhile, the AMAC Chairmanship election is scheduled for February 21, 2026.
