When Senator Dino Melaye raised the alarm that “Tinubu pardoned 70 drug lords it has never happened in world history”, he spoke not just as a politician, but as a patriot who can no longer keep silent in the face of unthinkable injustice. This singular act, if indeed true, represents one of the darkest stains ever recorded in the governance of our nation. It is a tragedy that defies logic, morality, and the very essence of justice.

How can a government that claims to be fighting corruption turn around to free those who have destroyed countless lives through the sale and distribution of dangerous drugs? These are individuals whose actions have ruined homes, shattered dreams, and cut short the lives of innocent Nigerians. Instead of being held accountable for their actions, they are being celebrated and pardoned under the watch of this administration. What message are we sending to our youths that crime pays, that drug trafficking is no longer a sin as long as you have political connections?

This act, if unchallenged, will go down in history as one of the most reckless and shameful abuses of presidential power. No country in the world, no matter how corrupt, has ever dared to pardon so many drug criminals in one sweep. It sends a dangerous signal to the international community that Nigeria is now officially a sanctuary for criminal elements a place where justice can be bought and punishment traded for loyalty.Senator Dino Melaye deserves commendation for his courage in speaking the truth to power, a time when many choose silence out of fear or personal gain. He stands as the voice of millions of Nigerians who can no longer recognise their own country under the weight of this administration’s moral decay. This is not about politics it is about the soul of our nation, the survival of justice, and the future of our children.

Nigeria must rise above this shame. We cannot continue to pretend that all is well when impunity reigns and criminals are rewarded. History will remember those who spoke out, and it will equally remember those who kept quiet while evil was celebrated.

Let us echo Senator Dino Melaye’s voice and demand accountability. Let us say NO to the normalisation of criminality in governance. Let us reclaim our nation from the hands of those who have turned it into a theatre of absurdities. This has never happened before, and it must never happen again.
