Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing infrastructure that will unlock the state’s blue economy potential, following an inspection of the ongoing 13.5km Oyorokoto Road project in Andoni Local Government Area.

Governor Fubara, in a statement issued after the visit, said the road is designed to connect the popular Oyorokoto community with the newly discovered Atlantic beaches along the ocean’s shores, creating opportunities for tourism and economic growth.

“Our intent is to tap into the latent opportunities in the blue economy with pristine bustling beaches,” the governor said.

“In it, we see the opening up of the beautiful ambience of the sea for tourism activities that will bolster the economy of our dear State and enhance the prosperity of our people.”

The governor also inspected the construction site of the river-crossing bridge to Epellema on the Kalaibiama–Epellema Road, describing it as a vital infrastructure project that will further open up the state and stimulate local commerce.

“These are critical projects to open up our State and boost economic activities,” Fubara added, emphasising his administration’s resolve to drive inclusive development through strategic infrastructure investments.
