The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that it will conduct its annual preventive maintenance on a 60 MVA, 132/33kV power transformer circuit breaker at the Kontagora Transmission Substation in Niger State on Wednesday, 29 October 2025.

According to a statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, the exercise will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., during which the contractor will complete the Current Transformer/Potential Transformer termination and the Remote Termination Unit Site Acceptance Test.

As a result of the maintenance, bulk power supply to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be temporarily interrupted. This will affect electricity supply to Kontagora Town, Army Barracks, Water Works, Masuga, and surrounding areas for approximately 10 hours.

TCN expressed regret over any inconvenience the outage may cause and appealed for the understanding of residents and businesses in the affected areas. The company assured that the power supply to AEDC will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
