NAFDAC Reaffirms Full Enforcement of Alcohol Sachet Ban
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to fully enforce the ban on the production and sale of alcoholic beverages in sachets and small bottles (below 200ml) by December 2025.

The agency said the move aligns with the directive of the Nigerian Senate and underscores NAFDAC’s mandate to safeguard public health, especially among children, adolescents, and young adults, who are considered most vulnerable to the harmful effects of alcohol misuse.
According to NAFDAC, the enforcement of the ban will serve as a decisive step toward curbing alcohol abuse and its associated social and health consequences.
The agency emphasised that producers and distributors must comply with the policy ahead of the deadline to avoid sanctions.
