DJ Chicken to be Prosecuted Over Multiple Road Crashes
The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced that it is accelerating the prosecution of popular entertainer Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road incidents, including a crash that occurred in Sagamu on November 1, 2025.
According to the Ministry, Abiodun rammed into two motorcycles during the Sagamu incident, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured. He was reportedly unremorseful and attempted to flee the scene, prompting passersby to mob him before police intervened. The Ogun State Police Command subsequently opened an investigation while prioritising the victims’ medical care, privacy, and recovery.
The Ministry further disclosed that on 23 November 2025, Abiodun was involved in another crash, this time in Lekki, Lagos State. The lone accident narrowly missed pedestrians, who escaped harm thanks to quick reflexes and luck. The Lekki crash is said to be the third incident in two months involving Abiodun behind the wheel.
Citing public safety concerns, the Ministry noted that while many traffic collisions can be resolved civilly, some road users pose exceptional danger and must be held accountable under criminal law. It described Abiodun as one such individual, pointing to multiple incidents captured on video and his return to reckless driving barely weeks after the Sagamu crash.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has therefore directed officials to expedite action on the Sagamu case in preparation for Abiodun’s prompt arraignment. The Ministry added that it is working closely with the police to ensure swift prosecution.
