Collapsed Infrastructure of Prince Dapo Abiodun and his APC-led administration in Ogun State – Otunba Babatunde Olushola Senbanjo

Fellow citizens of Ogun State, it has become necessary to speak plainly, boldly, and without apology about the tragic state into which our dear state has fallen under the leadership of *Prince Dapo Abiodun and the APC-led administration*. After two full terms in office, eight long years filled with promises, slogans, and cosmetic publicity, what do we truly have to show? Collapsed infrastructure, abandoned communities, and a government more interested in propaganda than progress.

Across the length and breadth of Ogun State, the story is the same: our road network is in an absolute state of disrepair. From rural communities to our major towns, the once-proud Gateway State has become a landscape of potholes, washed-out roads, failed projects, and highways that are now death traps. Residents in Sagamu, Ijebu, Ilaro, Abeokuta, Ifo, Ota, Imeko, Ipokia, and many others can testify to the daily suffering that comes from simply attempting to move from one place to another.

Businesses are collapsing because transportation has become torture. Farmers cannot move produce. Commuters lose hours every day navigating roads that were never repaired, never completed, or hastily patched just long enough for photo-ops. This is the legacy of an administration that has consistently chosen style over substance, media appearances over meaningful governance, and self-promotion over citizens’ welfare.

For two terms, Governor Dapo Abiodun has failed to deliver any major, transformative achievement that justifies the enormous resources allocated to Ogun State. No flagship project. No landmark infrastructure. No comprehensive development plan. Instead, the government has relied on press statements, billboards, and inflated claims that do not reflect the reality on the ground.

While other states are investing in modern infrastructure, job creation, industrial capacity, social welfare, and sustainable economic policies, Ogun State has been left behind reduced to celebrating the bare minimum and recycling old promises year after year. The APC government in Ogun has operated without vision, without urgency, and without genuine commitment to the development of the people.

Eight years should be enough for a government to prove itself. Eight years should be enough to build durable roads, strengthen communities, empower young people, reposition education, and stimulate the economy. Instead, what we have witnessed is an administration that abandons projects, neglects local government development, and prioritises personal political survival over public good.

The people of Ogun State deserve better. We deserve leadership that understands the weight of responsibility. Leadership that empowers rather than suppresses, that builds rather than destroys, that listens rather than dictates. Ogun State cannot continue on this path of stagnation disguised as progress.

It is time to speak the truth loudly: *Prince Dapo Abiodun’s* administration has failed to deliver on its promises. The APC government has failed to meet the expectations of the people. And Ogun State deserves a new direction one built on competence, empowerment, accountability, and genuine development.

The Gateway State must rise again, but it cannot rise under the same leadership that brought it to its knees.
