Just-In: Man Slits Cleric’s Throat inside Mosque

An elderly man, identified as Ladan Zubairu, was killed on Monday morning at Yusuf Garko Mosque in the Maraba Quarters area of Kano State.

Reports state that the incident took place at dawn while the victim was at the mosque for the early morning prayers. According to his son, Isa Kasim, Zubairu had finished the first call to prayer and was seated for supplications when an unidentified man entered the mosque and attacked him.

Eyewitnesses said the attacker slit the cleric’s throat during prayers, shocking worshippers and causing chaos within the mosque premises.

The suspect attempted to flee but was chased down by an angry mob and lynched shortly afterwards.
