APC Dismisses ADC’s Claims, Says Party Unfazed by Allegations Over E-Registration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being coerced into participating in its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.

In a press statement by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, issued in Abuja on Monday, February 2, 2026, the APC said the ADC’s accusations were driven by fear and intimidation over what it described as the “massive” and voluntary turnout recorded in the party’s digital registration process.

According to the ruling party, the allegation that civil servants were pressured to register is “entirely baseless” and part of a broader disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting its membership drive. The APC also recalled a previous incident in which it accused the ADC of fabricating and circulating a fake APC membership slip, allegedly linking a known terrorist to the party.

The APC attributed the surge in registrations to growing public support inspired by the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that millions of Nigerians had enrolled voluntarily and enthusiastically. It said the overwhelming response forced the party’s leadership to extend the registration deadline from January 31 to February 8, 2026.

The party further stated that while the ADC struggles and spreads what it termed falsehoods, the APC remains focused on strengthening its structures and advancing digital innovation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
