Akpoti-Uduaghan Supports Real-Time Electronic Transmission of Election Results
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has expressed her support for the real-time electronic transmission of election results, warning that opposition to or weakening of this process would be a “lethal assault” on Nigeria’s democratic system, as it risks manipulation and undermines the will of voters.

In a statement on Thursday, the lawmaker said that real-time electronic transmission is essential for ensuring credible, transparent, and trustworthy elections nationwide.
“I, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, support the real-time electronic transmission of results. Failure to do so would be a lethal assault on Nigeria’s democracy.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasised that protecting democracy requires the full adoption of modern electoral processes that align with global best practices and safeguard the integrity of the votes cast by Nigerians.
This comes just a day after the 10th Senate rejected the electronic transmission of election results, a report which Senate President Godswill Akpabio denied, stating that the National Assembly, led by him, only retained provisions contained in the Amended Electoral Act 2022.
