27 Lawmakers Defect to APC, ADC, Others
No fewer than 27 members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives defected to new political parties on Tuesday, in a significant shift within the lower chamber.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) gained 14 lawmakers: Aliu Madaki, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, Ghali Tijjani Mustapha, Shehu Bello, Dankawu Idris, Hussain Hassan Shehu, Rabiu Yusuf, Garba Mohammed Chiroma, Ibrahim Mohammed (Gwale), Jaafaru Yakubu, Sadiq Abbas Tafida, Ibrahim Mohammed (Birnin-Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza), Bello Shinkafi, and Mohammed Bassi.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received eight members: Abdussamad Dasuki, Seyi Sowunmi, George Ozodinobi, Harris Okonkwo, Yaya Bauchi Tongo, Mustapha Abdullahi, Mani Maishinko Katami, and Umar Yusuf Yabo.
Two lawmakers joined the Action Peoples Party (APP): Ugochinyere Michael Ikeagwuonu and Nwogu Mathew, while Akanni Clement Ademola and Oladebo Lanre Olomololaye defected to the Accord Party.
