Access Bank Branch Sealed Over Alleged Sewage Discharge Violations
A branch of Access Bank located on Land Bridge Avenue in Oniru, Victoria Island, has been sealed by the Lagos State Government following allegations of environmental violations involving the discharge of untreated waste.

The enforcement action was announced by Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab of the Environment and Water Resources, who stated that the closure followed a tip-off from a whistleblower.
According to him, officials from the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office carried out a joint inspection and confirmed. They confirmed that the facility was indiscriminately releasing raw faecal matter into nearby drainage systems.
Authorities say the illegal discharge caused foul odours and contributed to environmental degradation, in violation of Lagos State environmental regulations.

The operation, which took place overnight, aims at ensuring compliance with sanitation and wastewater management laws across the state.
Wahab emphasised that the property would face sanctions in accordance with existing legal provisions, reiterating the government’s commitment to protecting public health and the environment.
