Air Peace Lagos–London Flight Returns Mid-Route After Airspace Access Disruption
Air Peace has announced that its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service on 13 May 2026 was disrupted after the aircraft encountered en route access issues involving the airspace authorities of an African country.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management on Thursday, the aircraft was forced to return safely to Lagos in line with established international aviation procedures, while urgent operational clarification was sought from the relevant authorities.
The airline explained that the disruption led to the rescheduling of the London Gatwick service as efforts were made to resolve the issue.
Air Peace said affected passengers were promptly informed of the development and provided with care arrangements, including communication updates, support services, and other necessary assistance for their convenience.
The airline apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused, describing the disruption as unforeseen and beyond its control.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of passenger service across its network.
