Court Remands AAC Presidential Candidate Sowore in Kuje Prison, Rejects Recusal Request
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday remanded the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, at the Kuje Custodial Centre following the revocation of his bail last week.

The court also dismissed an application filed by Sowore seeking the recusal of the trial judge from the case over allegations of bias.
Sowore is currently facing prosecution by the Department of State Services (DSS) on cybercrime-related charges. The charges stem from a social media post in which he allegedly described President Bola Tinubu as “a criminal.”
During proceedings, the court ruled against Sowore’s request for the judge to step aside and subsequently ordered that he be remanded in Kuje prison pending further proceedings in the matter.
Further hearings are expected as the trial progresses.
