Ogah Denies 2027 Governorship Ambition Under NDC, Backs Otti’s Re-election

The Abia Rejoice Movement has dismissed reports linking former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, with an alleged governorship ambition under the NDC for the 2027 Abia State governorship election.

In a public notice issued on behalf of the movement, the group described the claims as false, baseless, and misleading, urging members of the public to disregard the speculation.

According to the statement, Dr Ogah has neither authorised nor endorsed any political arrangement suggesting he intends to contest the 2027 governorship election on the platform of the NDC.

The movement further clarified that the former minister has no interest in seeking the governorship under the party and remains committed to supporting the leadership and development agenda of Alex Otti.

It added that Dr Ogah is a full supporter of Governor Otti and called on Abians to continue supporting the governor’s re-election bid to sustain what it described as his ongoing developmental initiatives across the state.

The statement also cautioned members of the public, political stakeholders, and media organisations against spreading unverified information, stressing the need to rely on credible and official sources before making public claims.

Reaffirming its position, the Abia Rejoice Movement urged the public to dissociate Dr Ogah from what it described as speculative political narratives and to respect the integrity of his name and family heritage.
