Court Affirms David Mark, Aregbesola as ADC National Leaders

The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the authentic National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively, of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In its ruling delivered on Thursday, the court held that the process through which the two leaders emerged was an internal affair of the party and, therefore, not justiciable.

The judgment effectively recognizes Senator Mark and Aregbesola as the legitimate national leaders of the ADC, while reaffirming the principle that issues relating to the internal administration and leadership selection of a political party generally fall within the party’s domestic jurisdiction and are not subject to judicial intervention.
