Obi Alleges Threat to His Life, Says Tinubu is ‘Tired and Should Go Home’
The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Peter Obi, has alleged that his life is under threat, accusing the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of systematically frustrating him and other opposition figures.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Obi claimed that actions of the government have left him fearing for his safety.
“The way they’re going now, I might not even be alive soon. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it… deliberately so. The government is attacking me personally. They won’t come directly and say we’re doing this, but you could see their hands in everything, attacking everyone who is in the opposition party. They’re not even providing me with things I should be entitled to.”
Obi also said he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s president, insisting that leadership should be measured by its impact on citizens rather than political ambition.
“I am not desperate to be President of Nigeria. There’s a way you will fail in school, they will ask you to leave the school. People who had businesses when you came into power are now people who are selling kuli-kuli. President Tinubu is tired,” he said.
The former Anambra State governor argued that the current administration has worsened poverty and insecurity across the country.
“President Tinubu is tired, he needs to go back home and rest. When he came into power, 87 million Nigerians were living in poverty. Today it’s 140 million. There is insecurity everywhere. Which hope are they going to renew again? You can’t renew failure,” Obi stated.
He also commended former Kano State Governor and his running mate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing him as a politician who genuinely has the interests of Nigerians at heart.
