Wike to Critics: “Disprove FCT Road Achievements and I’ll Resign”
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has said he would resign if the critics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could show that his claims of road projects in the Federal Capital Territory’s satellite towns are false.

Speaking during the commissioning of projects in the FCT on Friday, Wike said that since President Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023, the administration has awarded contracts for 317 kilometres of roads across satellite towns.
According to the minister, 221 kilometres of those roads have already been completed, while the remaining 96 kilometres are currently under construction.
He assured residents that the Apo–Karshi Road and the Bwari–Kubwa Road would be completed before the end of the year, adding that the projects demonstrate the administration’s commitment to extending development beyond Abuja’s city centre.
Wike described the achievements as unprecedented, stating that satellite communities are experiencing the impact of governance like never before.
Throwing down a challenge to his critics, the minister said anyone who disputes the figures should present evidence within 48 hours on national television.
“If there’s anybody who has a contrary view, let him come out and challenge us that what we are saying is not correct. If anyone can prove that we did not award 317 kilometres of roads in the satellite towns and complete 221 kilometres since this administration came into office, I will resign as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,” Wike declared.
He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his continued support, as well as the National Assembly for its cooperation with the FCT Administration, saying the partnership has contributed significantly to the execution of major infrastructure projects across the territory.
